Big Tech Giant Apple Announced New Cheaper iPads, Special-edition (Red) iPhone 7 and many more

Apple ditches regular product announcement protocol and quietly dumped the news on its website and a few media outlets regarding New iPads, Special Edition iPhone 7, iPhone SE improvements, Clips application, Apple Watch Bands & New iPhone Cases.

New (Refreshed) iPads

Apple refreshes and simplified iPad with an iPad Mini, the new 9.7” iPad, 2 verities of iPad Pro – 9.7” and 12.9” (so no new much-speculated 10.5” iPad Pro).

Though the new 9.7” iPad has a much cheaper price tag, starting at $329 for 32 GB version, it is a bit thicker than the iPad Air 2 – its case is about the size of the original iPad Air. iPad pro has the fast Apple’s A9 chip (iPhone 6S has the same) but it misses out on the special screen on the iPad Pro, including its True Tone display and wide color range. It also lacks with the iPad Pro’s stereo speakers.

Apart from the color change, the special-edition of the iPhone 7 and 7 plus are still the same. Though it doesn’t have a 64 GB model but it is equipped with 128 GB and 256 GB variations. Interesting thing is with each purchase of this iPhone 7 version, Apple donates to (RED) which supports HIV/AIDS prevention and research.

iPhone SE Improvements

Only improvements iPhone SE will get this year by replacing 16 GB and 64 GB models with 32 GB and 128 GB options. The cheapest one still costs you $399 while the higher-end version has gone from $449 to its original retail price of $499.

iPhone’s New App called Clips


Apple created a new app called Clips. It’s a fusion between Snapchat and iMovie. You can create short videos or photos or import them from your Photos app to add special filters and effects. Users can also share these photos or videos on their favorite social network.

Other than these, Apple introduced handful of new Apple Watch bands and six new colors of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus cases. Now customers can further customize their watches and phones.


Google announces YouTube TV service for $35 only to beat rival Sling TV or DirecTV Now

YouTube, an American video sharing website and one of the hottest subsidiaries of Google, will replace your cable TV with YouTube TV – and yes! It is truly happening this time.

Like Sling TV or DirecTV, you pay a certain amount (which is $35 in this case) and enjoy an array of live broadcasting series and cable channels. These announcements are made in an event in California today.


Younger people, who we know as millennials, tend to watch TV in the same place they watch all their online content. YouTube knows that very well and they now want to capture this market with YouTube TV service. The experience can be enjoyed from all devices whether it is your phone or desktop or any other.

YouTube is using the cloud technology which they are calling Cloud DVR where users can save unlimited number of shows without having to worry about storage capacity as the traditional DVR has. However, you have to be connected to the internet to enjoy your saved shows, no offline here.


The company also said that it will be a completely different app from the original YouTube one. The customer experience in this app will be solid. They can call, email or chat with customer service right from the YouTube TV app. Cable TV now better watch out, because they really suck at that.

The app will have three sections:

  1. Library: meant to help you to find your favorite shows as well as your recordings.
  2. Home: the central tab where YouTube will suggest you different shows based on your taste. Google says, it’s using machine learning to make these predictions.
  3. Live: used for channel surfing, to record a show simple tap the ‘+’ icon.
